Though Copland and Elgar are best known for their symphonic repertoire, both composed masterful works on a more intimate scale. Tonight, we bring you our first-ever performances of Copland’s rhythmically complex Sextet and Elgar’s majestic Piano Quintet – two pieces we have looked forward to bringing to Portland audiences for many years.
