30 award-winning artists paint land and seascapes outdoors plein air Fri 6/29- Sun 7/1. Their fresh paintings are auctioned Sunday at a seaside tented gala featuring local foods and music. Benefits Cape Elizabeth Land Trust land conservation and education
Event Details
Acrylic, gouache, oil, pastel, watercolors and mixed media will all be on display as 30 talented artists from Maine, Massachusetts, and New York span out across Cape Elizabeth from June 29-July 1. They will be painting outdoors – en plein air - throughout the weekend, at locations that highlight the incredible land and seascapes of Cape. Their creations will then be auctioned while still “wet” at a gala on Sunday evening.
One of the most anticipated Wet Paint Auctions in Maine each summer, CELT’s signature event will be held July 1 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Cape Elizabeth, overlooking Richmond Island. Cape native chef Bret Cary of Chimney Rock Food Co. will cater, Cul de Sax quartet will provide the jazz, and the masterful auctioneer Kaja Veilleux will start the bidding. Not to be missed is the surprising sale of unmarked Mystery Boxes containing smaller paintings by the selected artists back by popular demand.
