About Orono

Orono, Maine is a portion of the surrounding Bangor metro area and lies along the Penobscot River. Located in East Central part of the State, Orono?s population is under 10,000. It is located alongside the Stillwater River in Orono, on the campus of the University.
Kayaking and whitewater rafting along the Stillwater and Penobscot Rivers is an excellent way to enjoy the picturesque scenery of the region surrounding Orono, Maine. Hiking and skiing are also popular activities to enjoy while in visiting the area. There are many restaurants and hotels in Orono making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of Maine.
